PhD Student (gn*) Pharmacy, Chemistry, Biochemistry or Neurobiology

The position is linked to the research group of Dr. Annika Lüttjohann (Institute of Neurophysiology). We are interested in the cellular and network mechanisms responsible for the generation of spike and wave discharges, the electrophysiological hallmark of absence epilepsy. The project aims to investigate the effects of novel potassium channel modulators (K2P and Kv7) on physiological and pathophysiological network activity in a genetic rodent model of absence epilepsy, which will be investigated in close collaboration within the ChemBion training group. We will provide a structured 3-year cutting-edge Ph.D. student training program in and beyond the fields mentioned
